Good Practice Examples from STEM Project Course
In our faculty, Prof. Dr. With an interdisciplinary approach, led by Salih Çepni, science teaching doctoral student Cem Özkan, and architecture doctoral student Melike Gülay.

Within the scope of the STEM Project Course, educational events that will excite students and external stakeholders are carried out beyond the boundaries of the faculty. In the
course, students design experimental setups that can be exhibited in science centers. This semester, two design groups of five people were formed in the STEM Project Course
chosen by the students of the Department of Science and Mathematics Education, and the groups consisted of two mathematics and three science teacher candidates. Students
received criticism from professionals while designing their experimental setups. Thus, on 18.04.2024, the students had the chance to see their ideas in real life by explaining their
projects in front of the jury consisting of mechanical engineer Osman Yeşildemir and science ambassadors from Bursa Science Technology Center Ufuk Ulukaya, A. Hamza
Çekinmez and technical responsible Necati Özerler. At the end of the jury evaluations, where presentations and discussions took place in an exciting way, teacher candidates
gained strong opinions about how their designs could be more applicable and more valuable.
Faculty-Industry Cooperation: The Pascal Platform experimental setup design group, formed within the scope of the same course, went to workplaces on 19.04.2024 and received
support from the field expert industrial company HİDTEK AŞ in order to obtain the products they needed from the industry. A design meeting was held with the project owner
students and the company's hydraulic system/equipment experts about the experimental setup based on Pascal's Principle. At the meeting, the cylinder diameters most suitable
for the project design were determined and piston lengths were calculated. The satisfaction and motivation created by the sincere support of HİDTEK AŞ's chairman of the board,
mechanical engineer Süleyman Kara, and his team have created the hope that a Faculty of Education-Industry cooperation is being formed. We hope that it will be the beginning
of a good example for other courses in our faculty, with the idea that product development will be possible today with the multidisciplinary collaboration that is inevitably inherent
in innovators, academic knowledge leaving the faculty, and industry entering the campus.
